Lately, my heart feels heavy with everything happening in the world. But amidst the sorrow, there’s a bright light of hope—a hope fueled by the unity, love, and solidarity we’ve witnessed on a global scale. This collective strength gives me faith that change is possible. It reminds me that, together, we can reshape the future for the better. The momentum for equality, justice, and progress is undeniable, and I truly believe we are on the cusp of something transformative.
During this time, I’ve chosen to direct my energy toward meaningful action. I’ve been actively donating to organizations that are driving real change, signing petitions, voting, and working hard to educate myself on topics like Black history, systemic racism, oppression, and violence. As a Mexican woman of color, I firmly stand against racism in all its forms. I stand in solidarity with the Black community, grounded in love, compassion, and a deep commitment to raising awareness. My heart is full of strength, prepared to resist, fight, and support efforts toward racial justice.
The road ahead may be long, but it is a journey that requires all of us. As a community, it’s essential that we continue to show up—not just for the Black community, but for people of color everywhere. For me and my team at SJ, it’s not enough to stand in solidarity. We are committed to amplifying the voices and stories of Black individuals and people of color in every space we occupy.
One of the most powerful ways we can contribute is by supporting Black creatives who inspire, educate, and shape the cultural landscape. In light of this, we wanted to take a moment to share a list of incredible Black influencers, artists, and brands that have touched my life and inspired me over the years. These are just a few examples, but there are so many more out there whose work deserves to be recognized and celebrated.
